Health Technology Assessment (HTA)

The Agency for Care Effectiveness (ACE) evaluates health technologies (drugs, vaccines, gene therapies and medical devices) to inform government funding decisions, and develops clinical guidance and educational resources to support healthcare professionals and patients achieve effective, evidence-based care.

ACE is developing a series of learning modules about health technology assessment (HTA) for patients and the public who would like to learn more about this process and ACE’s work.

The latest module in this series is titled “How is health technology assessment (HTA) done?” which provides an overview of the types of information used as HTA evidence and the steps involved in an HTA, and includes a simple quiz at the end to reinforce key concepts and enable self-assessment.
